I love to see this diversity of tail feathers at the self feeder 🥰.

It's nearly graduation season...a time when many take a rite of passage and cross a new threshold. Once chicks, our poults are on the cusp of their passage to hendom.

By these hands 👐

It's spring, when our hands are called upon for such a myriad of tasks which we have built into our life here.

The first shiitake fruiting of the year is happening...lamb tails and spring mushrooms abound.

The sun crossed the celestial equator just minutes ago ☀️. We are about to grab more daylight hours than our southern hemisphere compatriots.

The plants and animals, all flora and fauna on our half of the globe will rejoice...including us🙏.

🎆Toads are in...Mother Nature's latest delivery of spring delight surfaced in the compost pile as I filled wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow to top dress the herb garden yesterday.

☔ This is more characteristic of early March: frigid, unrelenting rains. These conditions are a major reason why we don't jump the gun on getting into the field. It seems this heartland soil needs a good spring marination every year before it's re
Integration Day🤟

The babes are already feathering out...legit feathers growing in, replacing that so-soft baby fluff that no stuffed animal can quite match (Is that why Jack just needs to get his hands on them as soon as breakfast is over?).

Well
Against the odds✨ 🤲

If I don't learn something from these animals, I'm missing the forest for the trees. This tiny tiny nugget is named Rosie. She was born to a yearling, first-time mother ewe earlier this week during a rainy overnight...not the
